What is Joker Stacks?

Aqueduct staged its final races June 28, ending a 132-year history at the Queens track. It remained open for simulcast wagering until September 7 before closing permanently.

The new Belmont is significantly different than the sprawling venue it replaced. The former 1.25 million-square-foot grandstand, which had become vastly oversized for the contemporary racing crowd, was demolished to make way for a much smaller, modern facility with a focus on hospitality and premium seating.

Friday’s opening was deliberately capped at 6,000 spectators while construction continues. Only the first two levels of the new five-story grandstand are currently open, with the remaining sections scheduled for completion ahead of next year’s meet.

Same thing that happened in 2012. I’m sad, but once again, I’m just beaten to the punch. My whole adult life has been that way and I can’t really explain how or why other than to say it I’m constantly being pushed in the direction I’m already going in.

So here’s what happens from here, in my view. In a few months, food price increases are going to start to become very glaringly obvious. Price inflation will not be able to be hidden anymore. You can tinker with the inflation statistics only so much, but once it gets to food prices, it’s game over. It’s already happening. Food bills are rising and are about to rise much faster.

That inflation is going to be priced into bond yields very quickly and the balance sheets of all the banks with worthless bonds squirting out of their eyeballs are all going to collapse. All at the same time. The whole process once it starts will take no more than weeks. The Fed will embark on one last round of printing to try to save the system one more time, but it will not work. Not this time. This time, the dollar, the reserve currency of the world, will be completely destroyed, and with it all other fiat currencies and the entire global financial system. Done, finished, the end. That means everything running on the assumption that dollars have any value, including the electricity grids that mine cryptocurrencies mind you, will freeze up.

Running back Ashton Jeanty fully participated in practice Friday after dealing with an ankle injury that sidelined him prior to Week 1. Jeanty delivered a standout performance against Miami, rushing for 102 yards on 23 carries while adding six receptions for 45 yards and two touchdowns.

The Raiders’ revamped offensive line didn’t allow a single sack against Miami while opening running lanes for Jeanty. However, they face a significantly tougher test Sunday against Khalil Mack, Tuli Tuipulotu, and the Chargers’ pass rush.

On defense, Las Vegas generated five sacks in Week 1, led by Maxx Crosby and Kwity Paye—a promising matchup against a Chargers unit that struggled to protect Justin Herbert during a 26-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
